Oral presentations

By Desiree Gonzalez

Oral presentations are a very useful and effective way to bring awareness to a topic. Being able to have an effective presentation helps keep the presentation interesting. It is important for the presenter to communicate with confidence and motivate the audience to pay close attention. While delivering an oral presentation, certain challenges require inventive techniques to engage in an impromptu interaction with the audience members. The essential goal is to deliver a positive learning experience.

By allowing students the opportunity to have given an oral presentation on their desired organization, enables them to do proper research on the organization and present the information in a persuasive manner to the other students. When researching these organizations the student expands their knowledge and understanding. This is convenient because it will determine if the student actually supports and stands by what the organization represents. Therefore, more effort will be put in place when giving an oral presentation. The student will focus on the key points of the organization and prepare a well-thought presentation to persuade the other students to choose their organization.

Without doing the proper research on these organizations the students will not be aware of what the organization does and why that particular organization is important. The information that is presented is needed because the students need to learn about the organization and allow for it to be considered. The more information that is presented about the organization and how well prepared, the more confident the student will appear and the presentation will be more effective. Consequently, the student will deliver their research and in a clear, concise and logical way in which will grasp the audience's attention.
